“Thirty years after my first visit to Picardy, I’m still delighted to be making new discoveries. The landscapes here are never the same; they change with the season and the time of day. The blues of the Baie de Somme turn to grey or ochre; the green of the fields and woods becomes yellow, orange, or red. Picardy has hidden treasures, simple beauty; it offers tourism on a human scale where real encounters are possible.
I’ve travelled a lot all over France and it’s always a pleasure to come back here. It’s a region you become attached to, where charm and conviviality reign.
Climbing up to the top of Amiens or Laon cathedral and looking out as far as the eye can see over the woods, the fields, the small villages, the hills and the valleys is good for the mind and body!”
