Situated where the Pays de Caux cliffs start, Ault is a seaside resort with three beaches: Ault, with its rocks and seashells, perfect for those who enjoy picking shellfish; Bois de Cise to the south, in the hollow of the cliff with its exceptional panorama, where Victor Hugo stopped off; and Onival in the north, with the “Eric Tabarly” water sports centre.
A few sites are also worth the detour: Saint-Pierre d’Ault Church, built in the 14th and 15th centuries, with its original chessboard architecture of white stones and flint stones; the white ceramic lighthouse with its lamp 106 metres above sea level; or, next to the lighthouse, the semaphore. This is the “eye of Ault”, watching the coastline between Boulogne-sur-Mer and Dieppe.
