Grandvilliers

Grandvilliers is situated in the north-west of the department. It has 3,050 inhabitants and is part of the “Communauté de communes” of Green Picardy. It has a number of proximity services and shops, and 48 social, sports and cultural associations.

Situated in a farming region, Grandvilliers has some industries: Lin 2000, Luchard, Saverbat, Seto, Sogiphar, to name a few.

The town offers a pleasant living environment and for the last three years has been rewarded for its flowers and embellishments.

Saint-Gilles Church, rebuilt after a fire in the town in 1683, and its listed 14th century portal, and the Chapel of Saint John, where Bossuet comforted the inhabitants of Grandvilliers after this catastrophe, are essential traces of the town’s past.

Cayeux-sur-Mer

Cayeux-sur-Mer is a family seaside resort close to large European cities: two hours from Paris, and just a little further from Brussels or London.

Cayeux-sur-Mer has a maritime history to discover: small fishermen’s houses, the maritime museum, the Benoit Champy lifeboat, which is a listed historical monument, and the sailors’ chapel.

After these visits, relax on the water’s edge, or go shrimp fishing when the tide’s out or mackerel fishing from a small boat.

A little steam-train ride or a bike ride on the cycle paths that run alongside the bay will take you to Hourdel port and the colony of seals that reside there.

To round off the day, try out one of our restaurants or enjoy the cabaret at the casino. If you play, you could even try your luck on our slot machines.
