A village with 2,200 inhabitants in the Oise Valley, Ribemont has a number of listed sites: the Saint-Nicolas des Près Abbey, the wood panelling in the Saint-Germain Chapel, the Moulin de Lucy and the birthplace of Condorcet. This famous philosopher, mathematician and humanist fought, notably, for the equality of women, public education, against slavery, etc. Condorcet rests in peace in the Panthéon, along with General Saint-Hilaire, who was also from Ribemont and an ally of Napoleon. The architect Nicolas-François Blondel was also born here.
25 associations work to offer a maximum of sports, cultural or leisure activities. Ribemont, “a small town with a big reputation”, according to the work by Paul Roche, will win you over with its wide range of services, its tourist attractions and its much appreciated charm.

Clermont-de-l’Oise, a town ideally situated at the heart of the department, has a rich natural and historical heritage.
A third of the territory is classed as a nature zone, thus allowing its 10,000 inhabitants to enjoy a privileged backdrop.
An avant-garde town, Clermont de l’Oise was one of the first towns in France to be organised on an inter-communal basis, thus equipping itself with a number of facilities and services for the well-being of its inhabitants.
By 2009, it will have a social centre, a social grocery store and day nursery.
Clermont-de-l’Oise offers the advantages of a dynamic town that has held onto the assets of its past.
