Situated in the lush valley of La Maye, Crécy-en-Ponthieu is a town of 1,600 inhabitants, near the Baie de Somme.

On 26 August 1346, Crécy became part of history. French troops led by Philippe VI de Valois were defeated by the English army of Edward the Third. It was the start of the 100 Year War.

In the local museum, EMHISARC, a room recalls this battle.
Crécy still has a few monuments of its past: Saint-Séverin church (15th century) with its flamboyant Gothic style, and the Croix du Bourg (13th century).

Crécy is ideal for green tourism thanks to 4,322 hectares of forest (signposted hiking trails, horse riding paths, etc.).

The foundation of Guise, the county town, situated in the department of Aisne in the hollow of the Oise Valley, dates back to the 6th century.

Today Guise has 6,000 inhabitants and a dense network of associations, with over 80 social, sports and cultural associations and industries as well, such as Godin (cooking and heating appliances), Samas (office furniture), Martin Lunel (Legrand group, electricity), Sneip (plastic) and Omtp (moulds).

Guise has also become a popular tourist destination thanks to its famous monuments such as the Fortified Castle of the Dukes of Guise, the Familistère Godin, and to people such as Camille Desmoulins and Jean-Baptiste André Godin. The town was awarded a 3rd flower in the blooming villages’ competition and has a 3-star campsite.
